The One-Twenty model designation was replaced by the Packard Eight model name during model years 1938 and 1942. The One-Twenty is an important car in Packard's history because it signified the first time that Packard entered into the highly competitive mid-priced eight-cylinder car market. Packard enthusiasts view the production of the One-Twenty and the Six/One-Ten models as the start of Packard losing its hold on the market as the premier American luxury automotive brand. Hello, I am selling my 1938 Packard 1600 4-door touring car. I have had it about 10 years with hopes of restoring. I am NOT a Packard expert, so I am only posting what I know about the car. I have many other pictures and I am happy to send you anything specific you would like to see. This is an original California car. Has black plates (original I don't know). Last registration was 2003. VIN is A9833 and body dash #is 433997. BODY/EXTERIOR:Someone repainted the car green, I think the original color was tan.Overall the body is in very good shape, only surface rust that I can see near top of the doors (see pics). There is some peeling paint. All exterior trim is there and intact as well as the hood ornament. All light and lenses are there and not cracked.Running boards show signs of weathering.White wall tires and original hubcaps. Doors open and close as does the trunk. Spare tire in trunk not sure if original, there is a jack. All the original window glass is there, a couple of them show weathering ...
