Head turner 1975 Volkswagen Convertible, 4-Speed. Great fun with the top down! Drives great & no matter how you look, this little jewel always make you look BETTER!! The fuel injection was replaced with carburetor- for those who know VW Bugs fuel injection had a tendency to catch fire. No rust in the floor pans. No tears in the interior and no leaks in the top. Original Odometer mileage 49630. Always garage kept and taken care of. Great little car that still runs like a top! All around solid Bug for a '74!! Message for more information. On Feb-19-18 at 05:20:29 PST, seller added the following information: Error- All around solid Bug for a '75!! A very nice driver version of a 1966 Convertible VW. Has all the original parts including the engine. This one is a great driving car. Not a "show car." True to it's original look. "Unmolested." Has all of it's original bits and pieces. Correct factory appearance. Never lowered or hacked at. Can use a set of tires but I got a line on some wide whitewalls I can toss in if the auction does well enough. I think the top is original. It operates well but has some separation from the wood in the back. I have a clean title and can help ship at sellers expense. Hard to find these with all the correct pieces. Drive 'as is' or restore it at your leisure. Original color is yellow. The last several photos depict what rust I can find on the Bug. Nothing chronic but full disclosure. No reserve auction. Happy Bidding.

1974 VW Thing with rare hard top Runs and drives great. Starts up every time. Engine is an AM Code 1600 which is correct for a VW Thing - the engine was converted at some point to single port heads instead of what would have been stock is dual port heads. Only concern I have with driving it is when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd gives a bit of a grind so you end up coasting a bit until you can either go into first or back up to third. Shifting from 1st to 2nd works fine. We did replace the shift rod bushing within the last month - and adjusted brakes. No structural rust - there may be some repair work needed on windshield frame. Pans and beam are in great condition. The engine compartment was clearanced at some point for maybe a taller carburetor - pictures show how it was pushed up. Seats are useable but could use new upholstery or seat covers. The speedometer works, the odometer does not work, the tachometer works some times. Hardtop is a Fiberjet model - the passenger side glass is cracked ...

I am selling this vehicle for a friend. The Van is an original 1974 Volkswagen Bus. VIN # 2242073423. Clear title and current California License Plates. This Bus was restored with a rebuilt 1600 engine and has 200+ miles and starts right up drive anywhere. Tires new size P205/75 R14, (no spare). The Bus is painted original colors in 2015. The transmission was also tuned up and rebuilt it has 100+ miles. Original accessory roof rack installed. The restoration of the door panels and seats and upholstery was done with non-OEM parts and materials. The sliding door does not close all the way will need adjusting and a new lock. This Van is listed also for sale locally so I reserve the right to close the auction prior to close of auction. The suspension and shocks are all in good condition. The body has no dents and and the bottom frame appears to have no bends or dents to indicate an accident in it's history. Whats Wrong The antenna is missing, windshield wipers missing, door to the motor compartment ...

Wow... What a cool and unusual classic car! I am helping sell this extremely collectible, 1973 VW Thing to someone who is looking for great potential, a good survivor or just a desirable project. The car was driven into the family barn with 73,210 original miles, over 20 years ago, and not pulled out until now. It is now time to settle the estate. This car has plenty of "patina", surface rust and real rust. The family had a mechanic get the car running and driving. It starts, runs, drives and shifts well. This car is rolling on a very old set of bad tires that need to be replaced. The original title has been lost, so it is being sold with a bill of sale. This car has some very interesting features - lift off doors, gas heater, fold down windshield and rear seats. This is a hard to find car that deserves restoring. I tried to take pictures of all angles so you can see what you are getting. The car has a current NADA Book Value of: Low - $8,350; Average - $20,000; High - $33,200. This is ...
